Travellog — Privacy Policy

How Travellog collects, uses, and protects your information

Last updated: 21 July 2026 (v2)

Travellog ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal travel-logging app. This policy explains what information Travellog collects, why, and how it's handled — whether you use the app as a signed-in account holder or as a guest.

1. Who runs Travellog

Travellog is developed by an independent developer. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact Qfulldev@gmail.com.

2. Two ways to use Travellog

Guest mode: your trips, tags, profile, and settings are stored only on your device (local storage). Nothing is sent to our servers except the third-party lookups described in Section 4. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is permanently lost — we have no copy of it.

Account mode: if you create an account (email and password, or Google sign-in), your trips, tags, profile, and settings are stored on our backend (Supabase) so they sync across devices. You can switch from guest mode to an account at any time; your existing local trips are copied into your new account.

3. Information we collect

We do not knowingly collect payment information (there is currently no paid tier), and we do not request access to your device contacts, camera roll, or precise background location.

4. Third-party services we use

Some features send small, specific pieces of data to outside services in order to work:

We don't control these third parties' own data practices; we recommend reviewing OpenStreetMap's, Wikipedia's, Google's, and PostHog's own privacy policies if you'd like more detail.

5. What we don't do

6. Data retention and deletion

Account data is retained for as long as your account exists. Travellog lets you delete some or all of your data at any time without deleting your account:

To delete your account entirely, including your login credentials, go to Profile → Delete account while signed in. This permanently and immediately removes your account, all your trips, tags, profile, and settings from our servers — this cannot be undone. If you're unable to access this option for any reason, you can also request deletion by emailing Qfulldev@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account. Guest-mode data is deleted simply by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.

7. Data security

Account data is stored with Supabase, which encrypts data in transit and at rest, and access is restricted to your authenticated account via row-level security. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Children's privacy

Travellog is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these yourself in-app (Profile, Data pages), or by contacting us at Qfulldev@gmail.com.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
